I think that a lot of people have the same work as me this week from the profile project of the news writing class. When I found some information through the website, I found a special column in Syracuse.com, named Finding Orion.
It is a column talking about a the National Guard 27th Infantry Brigade in Afghanistan. I feel this topic is profund and interesting, and it's also surprising that this column is put in local pages. In my home country, Taiwan, you barely saw this kind of columns. Besides, I also found that the logo of it is really special. It is combined by three letters, and I think it's a simple and precise logo as well.

Current Event II

Last night, I watched a basketball game, Team U.S.A. versus Team Canada. The game is a warmup match for the coming Olympic games. Undoubtedly, NIKE is one of the ad's sponsers of the game. After the game, I surfed Nike.com and found a special zone about the U.S.A. basketball team, including an impressive logo and slogan.

The movie to be fashionable this weekend is definitely "The Dark Knight." Everybody talks about it, and it also earned an estimated $18.5 million in gross revenue at its 12 a.m. opening screenings early Friday morning at 3,040 screens, the most ever for midnight shows.

Lupton's Response III

After reading Lupton's "Grid" Chapter,I realize that grid systems actually exist in almost all books, magazines, newspapers and websites.Grid systems make reading much easier and more comfortable, and they increase readers' inclination to keep reading.
Take me for example, other than the New York Times, I often visit the website of the Washington Post. I feel that the Washington Post's layout is shipshape and readable.

Lupton's Response II

To me, I feel that a good website is not only a stadium to convey messages rapidly and correctly, but also a place people would like to surf it a lot. I think the offical site of Major Baseball League is one of this kind, because it offers people every game's live online instantly, and many baseball fans really feel convenient and friendly about it.
I think current design of this kind of wabsites enhances the user experience undoubtly. Take MLB.com for example, people without television and radio to enjoy the games still have another choice, only if they could connect to the Internet. The live gane online provides not merely all players' data but also every strike or ball, play-by-play. Fans who had been lost the opportunity to watch the games have another new experience online. I think it's the value of the website's design-increasing new viewpoints, solutions and experiences!
